Photos: Bushfire Recovery Blitz

After receiving nominations from the community and choosing our first nominee 25 adults and 17 kids headed off to Lorraine's place on Saturday 29 March 2014 to do some work in her half acre front yard that had been destroyed by the October bushfires. Lorraine and some of her family joined in. There was 60 cubic metres of mulch to be spread, 155 plants to be planted in the gardens plus 35 lilli pillys to be planted along the front of the block as well as 30 tonnes of rock used to make a  retaining wall. With the help of everyone there we were able to accomplish it all in the day. What a transformation!

We would also like to acknowledge the businesses who sponsored the day and thank them for their generosity and kindness.
  • Sydney Sandstone Quarries (and the driver)
  • Springwood Recycling Centre
  • Nepean Garden Makers
  • Online Hire (St Marys)
  • Botanica Nurseries
